The picturesque vista of the Sri Vinayaka Shankaranarayana Durgamba temple, which is situated on the banks of the Netravathi river, is its main draw. For thousands of believers from all around the world, it is their sacred space. The temple lies 3 km (1.9 mi) from Marnabailu.
The long-standing Jathra Mahotsava celebration and numerous other religious events held at the Kshethra are attended by devotees.
The religious and social activities of the Kshethra have kept them afloat in spite of natural degradation. The development process is moving quickly.
A few modern additions to the old Kshethra are the all-purpose “Nanda Deepa” auditorium, the new Bhojanashala, and “The Community Tower”. Renovations have been made to the Thirtha Mantap and Gharbhagudi of Lord Vinayaka, Lord Shankara Narayana, and Lord Shri Durgamba. There is now a new main entrance and Swagatha Gopuram at the entrance. There is a new holy flagpole wrapped in brass. At the Kshethra, numerous other development initiatives are planned.
The midday food program “Akhaya, Neyhravathi” and a free medical examination camp have been established at the Kshethra to serve the people of the region.
