It is believed that Goddess Nimishamba is an incarnation of Goddess Parvathi, Lord Shiva’s spouse. Ganjam is regarded as a sacred location. At the Nimishamba Temple, Muktharaja of Somavamsha Aryakshatriya carried out penance.

In front of Sri Nimishamba, pooja is offered and a stone with the image of Shrichakra is sculpted.
