The temple was constructed in the southeastern part of the Mysore Palace fort, aligning with the Trineshwaraswamy temple located in the northeastern section. The three main idols—Gayathri, Savithri, and Saraswathi—were sculpted based on a specific Sanskrit verse and completed within a year. These idols were consecrated in Panchayathana order following Agamic rituals. The inauguration took place on Chaitra Bahula Bidige of the Vijayanama Samvatsar in 1953, led by Sri Jayachamaraja Wodeyar. He was highly impressed with the craftsmanship and honored the sculptor, Sri B. Basavanna, with a first-grade medal, a golden chisel, a silver hammer, and a golden chain during the ceremony.
