The Kadu Malleshwara Temple (Kannada: ಕಾಡು ಮಲ್ಲೇಶ್ವರ) is a 17th-century Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, situated in the Malleshwara area of Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. The term ‘Kadu’ translates to ‘forest,’ reflecting the lush greenery surrounding the temple. Constructed in 1669 A.D. by Venkoji, the brother of the Maratha King Shivaji, the temple features Dravidian architectural style. In this temple, Shiva is revered as Mallikarjun. Adjacent to the temple is the Nandishwara Teertha Temple (also known as Basava Theertha), which is believed to be the origin or birthplace of the Vrishabhavathi River.
