Sri Panduranga Temple, situated in Malleswaram, Bangalore, stands amidst bustling shopping streets and numerous surrounding temples. Over 100 years old, it is the only temple dedicated to Lord Panduranga in the Malleswaram area, offering a sanctuary where devotees can find solace at the Lord’s sacred feet (Vishnupada). Despite its century-long history, the temple’s structures are now in a state of disrepair, necessitating urgent renovations.
The planned reconstruction will follow Vedic architectural principles to preserve the temple’s sanctity and spiritual essence. The revamped temple will feature a Gopuram, Garbhagriha (main sanctum), and additional spaces for meditation and Annadana (charitable feeding). The new Garbhagriha will house idols of Lord Ganesha, Lord Panduranga, Rukmini Devi, Lord Shiva, Shirdi Sai Baba, Swamy Samarth, and the Navagrahas.
This reconstruction presents a unique opportunity for devotees to contribute and worship Lord Panduranga and Rukmini Devi, who are believed to protect the world and possess the power to alleviate sins and curses related to parental betrayal (PithruShaapa), sibling disputes (BrathruShaapa), and the misuse of power or funds. — Guruji Dr. Lakshmi Srinivas
