Temple Description
The Ranganathaswamy Temple, an ancient and renowned Vaikhanasa Hindu temple in Bangalore, Karnataka, India, dates back to the 16th century and is dedicated to Lord Ranganathaswamy. Constructed in the Vijayanagara architectural style, the temple features intricately carved granite pillars that reflect Hoysala influences. The sanctum sanctorum contains idols of Sri Ranganatha Swamy alongside his consorts, Sri Bhudevi and Neela Devi. Located on Rangaswamy Temple Street in the Chikkapete (Chickpet) area of central Bangalore, the road itself is named after this famous temple.
