Temple Description
The Sugreeva Venkateshwara Temple, located on Balepet Main Road in Bangalore, is dedicated to a key figure from the Hindu epic Ramayana and holds significant religious value. The temple features a six-foot tall statue of Sugreeva, the monkey king and a close ally of Lord Rama, posed with folded hands. At first glance, the idol might be mistaken for Lord Hanuman, but upon closer inspection, you’ll notice Sugreeva’s distinct two protruding teeth. Additionally, in the temple’s sanctum sanctorum (garbhagriha), there is an idol of Lord Venkateshwara placed on a pedestal.
