Malleswaram Sri Lakshminarasimha Swamy Temple is an ancient temple that dates back to 1669 when Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaja’s elder brother Ekkojirao (Venkojirao) arrived in Bangalore. At that time this area was known as Medaraninganahalli. Ekkoji saw the presence of Lord Parameshwara and Lord Narasimha here as per the Vedic saying “Shashwatam Shivam Acchutam”. Then he built one mantapa for Ishvara and Achchutani and consecrated the whole place as a temple and continued his journey. Over time the Eshwara temple was called Kadumalleswara temple and the adjacent Narasimha temple was called Halu Mantapa.

Every year Brahmotsav, Narasimha Jayanti, Sarva Vahanotsava, Pavitrotsava, Vaikuntha Ekadashi, Hanumajayanti, Dhanurmasa Puja, Thirunakshatra of Alwar Acharyas and other events are held. In this temple, the bride or the groom who want to get married come and circumambulate during the Kalyanotsava wearing the God’s bangle, they will get married quickly. And the specialty of this temple is that the devotees who have made special pilgrimages here have their wishes fulfilled.
