This temple’s history starts with Sage Gouthama. After so many years of tapasya, Lord Mahavishnu appeared and fulfilled sage’s desire. As per the sage wishes, lord Vishnu appeared as Shree Laxminarasimha at west direction. Lord Narasimha’s avatara is the shortest duration of avatara among dashavatara. This kshetra is located on the bank of Hemavati river, also river is flowing from west side direction. The king of Chola dynasty renovated this temple. Near to this temple, Lord Shiva is also being worshiped in the name Konkaneshwara.
