Jagadguru Sri Veerasimhasana Mahasamsthana Math, commonly known as Sri Suttur Math, boasts a rich history spanning 1,000 years. Founded in the 11th century AD by Adijagadguru Sri Shivarathreeshwara Shivayogi Mahaswamiji, the Math has flourished over the centuries thanks to its esteemed lineage. It has evolved into a multifaceted organization dedicated to comprehensive societal development. The Math ventured into education with the creation of Jagadguru Sri Shivarathreeshwara Mahavidyapeetha (JSS Mahavidyapeetha), initiated by its 23rd pontiff, Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Mahaswamiji, who championed education as a vital means for societal progress. Starting with a High School in Mysuru in 1954, JSS Mahavidyapeetha has since expanded to oversee over 300 educational institutions across Karnataka, other regions of India, and even internationally.
