The Suryanarayana Temple in Domlur is one of the few Sun God temples in India, situated in Bangalore. Dedicated to Lord Surya Narayana, it was established by Sri Patel D. R. Krishna Reddy in 1995 and inaugurated by His Holiness Shree Shree Shree Shiva Kumar Swamiji of Sidda Ganga Mutt, Tumkur.
In a city filled with temples, this one stands out for several reasons. The Suryanarayana Temple is renowned for its stunning modern architecture, crafted by skilled artisans in the traditional Chola style. It attracts a large number of devotees daily, particularly during the 8-day Brahmotsava festival celebrated on Magha masa Sudha Trithiya. The impressive idol of Suryanarayana, which was brought from Badrinath, stands 3.25 feet tall, accompanied by a Prabhavali. At its base, you’ll find the idols of Kashyapa and Aditi.
Surrounding the sanctum are various deities, including Vaishnavi, Brahma, Nagaraja, Ugranarasimha, Saraswathi, Panchamukhi Ganesha, as well as Surya and a reclining Adi Sheshasayi, all bestowing their blessings upon the visitors. Additionally, there is a remarkable Udhbhava Huttha in the temple complex, formed after the construction of the platform.
